Present for Dad to be?

Ladies are sooo easy to buy for! The list is LONG for me at least, lol.

But what can I do for my AMAZING husband, he's been super supportive and such a champ. I would like to buy him a gift for for his "dad under construction party" or a momento for when we go to the hospital...  It's our 1st baby (it's a boy!) and want to get him something special. I've already bought him 5+ "Worlds Best Dad" picture frames, so that's pretty exhausted. I was thinking of surprising him with a Pony keg and special cigars for the party. Any help would be appreciated

He's in construction, is a cowboy and doesn't wear ties...

Re: Present for Dad to be?

  • This is our fourth boy (and last baby!) and I wanted to do something special for my husband.

I got him a money clip that was hand-stamped with our boys' names on it.  It isn't so much for him to use, but a special momento that he will have for years to come.

I'm sure whatever you pick, he will love :)

  • Wow..I'm a terrible wife/mother...I'm giving my husband a baby...and his 30th birthday is a month later...again..here's your baby...maybe when I get my ability to feel like a hot wife back I'll give him something extra but for now he's getting a baby.

lol this!  I feel awful about not getting him anything.  He has been so incredible.  He jumps up whenever I need something, he drives everywhere so that I don't have to (because I commute so much for work), he makes my lunch every day, does all the laundry...I tell him all the time how much I appreciate it and how much I love him but I really want to get him something too.  He told me not to.  Without putting too much information out there, about 10 years ago (DH is 34) something horrible happened and he was told he wasn't going to be able to have kids.  So, he is calling our baby boy his little miracle.  When I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and Valentine's day, he said "Baby, you don't have to get me anything.  You're giving me a son, and that's more than I could ever ask for."

So selfish!  I'm giving my husband 50/50 duty with the baby AND 6 to 8 weeks off of sex.  I am sure he will be too tired, so I don't want to pressure him.
  • DH is getting a baby from me and I think that's a pretty awesome gift.

  • He's a cowboy...does he wear hats? Could he use an awesome brand new cowboy hat?
  • I've been trying to think of a little present to get DH too. Our anniversary was Jan 17th and I got my (unnecessary) "push" gift early. He got me a charm bracelet that me and DD can share by getting each other different charms throughout the years. I'm just not sure what I am going to get him...

DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)

  • DH has also been very supportive, and although I don't think he expects a gift, I got him a Keurig coffee maker.  He really wants one, and I don't drink coffee, so it makes sense to only make one cup at a time.  I figured it will come in handy when he's up late at night with the baby :)  Not exactly sentimental, but I know he'll be really excited and get lots of use out of it.

  • My DH is getting a baby, and more quality time with our 2 yr old. What more could he possibly want?!

    Lucky guy! I want one!

  • I'm getting him a gift certificate to a Brazilian Grill restaurant he loves (they bring meat around swords...I don't get it but then again I'm not a dude) and organizing his buddies so they can all go out and have a guy's night out about 3-4 weeks after LO arrives.  I have seen this topic brought up on other boards and it seems that other moms-to-be are quick to say "he's getting a baby that's enough" but IMHO my DH has gone above and beyond for me in more ways than one and I personally want to treat him to something a little unnecessary and unexpected.
  • I bought my DH a tshirt from Daddy Scrubs that says "I'm the daddy". They have tons of options, including a full set of scrubs. If you want something for the delivery, that's an option.

  • Does he love sports???? Before we found out we were having a girl, if we had a boy I was going to get DH and LO Red Sox Jerserys that said "Like Father" on his and "Like Son" on LO's. He is a HUGE baseball fan and we are MASSIVE Red Sox fans! Now that we know LO is a little girl, I will be wording the jerseys a little differently.
