I will be a newbie at cloth diapering and am due in March. I have started my stash of pockets and the occasional AIO. So far I have FuzziBunzs, Rumparooz, Omaki, AMP, and GroVia. Most of these come with microfibre inserts. I am wondering if I will need to purchase more inserts? Maybe get natural fibre inserts? Also, can I get a generic brand of inserts and use on all of the diapers? Or do I need to purchase specific inserts depending on the make of the diaper?
Is there specific times of day that are best for different inserts? What is best for sleeping? Microfibre or natural?
Thank you in advance
Re: Insert question
MF inserts were fine for me up to about 20 months. I bought a few stray doublers and bamboo inserts to use for longer trips out of the house and overnight. Any insert works with any brand pocket.
I like bamboo and hemp with a MF for overnight. A bit of everything.

My DS is 13 months old and so far we've been fine with microfiber for daytime use. I combine a couple of hemp doublers with microfiber for nighttime. I use baby kicks and hemp babies for my doublers. I also have 1 diaper that came with a bamboo fold-to-fit insert, and I like that as well.
As far as brands are concerned, you can mix and match different brands of inserts and pockets as much as you like. You could even stuff your pockets with prefolds if you wanted to.
