Heavier bleeding after 3 weeks? TMI

Last night I went to the bathroom and saw period-like bleeding, like the heavy bright red stuff.  I have felt a little crampy the past few days too (like PMS cramps), but the PP bleeding had JUST seemed to be winding down.  (It was at the point of the light pink mucusy bleeding.  TMI I know.)  No clots or anything, just the bright red fresh blood.

I am EBF and I googled and found that some people said that it is normal?  I feel like I have my period again.  ugh.  Not fun!!

Anyone else experience this?  Should I call the doctor?

How many weeks PP are you? I'm on the mobile site so I apologize if its obvious. I went thru the same thing at 3 weeks PP. it had really slowed down and was pink in color and then out of nowhere dark and heavy again. I got freaked out and was going to call the dr but gave it a day or two and I ended up passing three larger clots, like the size of a quarter. After that it stopped for good. Definitely call if you think it's something to be worried about. That's what they're there for!
ETA: I EBF and I also read that can be a factor since it encourages/causes contractions.

Mine got heavy again at 3 weeks, and now at 5 weeks it's totally gone, thank the lord. It got heavy for a few days and then went back to the light pink, then nothing. As long as it's not going through a pad an hour, it's normal.

I think its very normal at only 3 weeks. For many people it will stop and start up again. Mine stopped for almost 2 weeks completely and then started up this week.

Mine increased at 2.5-3 weeks pp. I read that it can be caused by overexertion. I had my mom staying at the time, so for 2 days she did all the cooking and chores, and I limited my trips downstairs. As soon as I slowed down it went light and pink again, only returned to blood red one other day when I'd taken a long walk. I made sure after that to gradually increase activity back to my normal level.
