So lately I have had such bad lower back pain, that sometimes I just want to cry! One of my friends told me to maybe go see a chiropractor? Anyone have any thoughts on this and if it actually helps?
I go to a chiropractor when not pg to get adjusted every other month. I went a few weeks ago for the first time this pg and feel so much better. Just be sure to ice after your adjustment for a few days to help with any swelling. As an added benefit, it gives you an excuse to sit and relax for 20 minutes while you ice.
I love my chiropractor! I have been seeing him since week 8. I had a previous injury that he had to adjust for that pregnancy has agravated. However, I am strickly getting treatment for pregnancy problems now. I plan on working with him once a month, then every other week when it gets closer to EDD.
I was going regularly for back pain pre-pregnancy. Now that I'm pregnant it's helped even more. My chiro said any issues you have before pregnancy are only exacerbated during. I had switched to once every two months and when I first got pregnant had to go back to once or twice a week. (Thankfully up to every two weeks again).
It also helps make sure that (sp?) sacrum is adjusted. My chiro said this is the most common reason for that hand on the lower back pregnant women get that isn't necessary. I say give it a try!!
My dad was a chiropractor (retired) and it will help! He used to take lots of pregnant women. Of course just do your research on Dr's in your area. I would def. go this route for back pain.
