Can anyone think of a workable nickname for Thornton?
Family name, blah blah blah, we'd love to use it, but the only nickname we can come up with is Thor. Which is hilarious, but can't really go on his preschool cubby.
Also, if you plan to use another clunker of a family name for a nn... his name might just be "too much"--don't you think? Thornton is nice but kind of a lot as it is. So with that said... how about a middle name like James or something that begin with a J so nn could be TJ? Or some other initial combo.

Ha! Was hoping to use another clunker of a family name in the MN spot.
Sigh.
Wish I liked Thorn, but it just sounds like the kid is destined to become a tortured poet, smoking in the high school parking lot.

Thats all I have. Unless you can make a nn out of the initials. I.e. TJ

I like the name, but can't think of a good nn.

My dad's name is Thornton and he's never used a nickname. Certainly stands out from all the kids now named Jack or Sam.
His dad was also a Thornton and went by his first and middle initials.
