Csection mammas!

Hey everyone! I have a question for those of you who had c sections! I had an emergency c section 6 weeks ago this Friday! I have to tell you that I still feel a lot of tenderness around the incision! I also still feel like the area is still swollen! Anyone else have a similar  experience after a C?

Re: Csection mammas!

  • Im 9 weeks pp and only last week did I begin to feel like myself, I was tender and mildly swollen for several weeks after my c-section.

  • I was puffy just above the incision for a few months, and 2 years later, I still have some numbness. Totally normal.

  • this is my second c-section and the recovery is much faster!!  the first one takes a while to recover, just from my experience....

  • I am 12 weeks pp and still ha be numbness and some tenderness (when pressed on). My dr. Said it could take up to a year for the numbness to go away.

  • My daughter is a year old and the area around the incision is still numb.  It hasn't been painful for a long time but its still numb.

  • I'm only 3 weeks out, but I'm still tender and numb around the incision.  One of my coworkers had a c-section as well and she said her site stayed numb for months so I assume it's normal.

  • I'll be six weeks out on Friday and I do feel sore on occasion. I don't think I look swollen, though, or feel particularly tender at the incision. I feel more sore on the inside. Have you had your 6 week check up? Definitely ask your doctor about it and maybe call if you have already had your check up.

  • 4 weeks PP here. I never had much swelling but I still have tenderness, both general and to the touch. I've only been wearing soft clothing because it's uncomfortable rubbing against the incision. If you're unsure, check with your doc. GL!

  • I've had two sections so far.  I've done really well on the healing.  My last one I was up and going to the bathroom and sitting for a couple min on the couch in my room 8 hours after surgery began!  I use the steri strips until they fall off on their own and replace them if it's been less than two weeks after surgery.  My incision has been a little tender for a couple weeks each time.  There was a LOT of numb tingliness around the incision after my first section for a few months even.  I'll be having another section with this last baby.

  • I'm 11 weeks out and finally most of the swelling is gone. The numbness still exist on the right side of the scar. My mom had a csection with my brother almost 30 years ago and she said there is still a numb spot near her incision. So it may or may not ever go away.

  • It takes awhile to heal, especially internally.
You may have numb spots forever.

  • I'm 10 weeks pp, feeling ok though the skin around my scar is still numb. 2 weeks ago I started doing aerobics every morning, feeling much better now. Right after c-section i was mildly swollen for 4 weeks, after 6 weeks the area around the scar started to get better, same as looking better. I'm using oily cream for the scar, calls meboscar, seams like helping.
