Ice Breakers?

I'm in change of planning an ice breaker for our next meeting.  It needs to be 20 minutes or less, and will work for 50+ people.  We've done the candy clues game, and a cell phone photo bingo/scavenger hunt.

Ideally, I'd love to make it Valentine's themed, but any ideas would be very appreciated.  TIA!

Re: Ice Breakers?

  • This isn't Valentine's themed, but a friend of mine played a game where everyone has a piece of paper.  The first person draws a picture of anything and passes it to the 2nd person, the 2nd person write a word or phrase of what they think the picture is and passes it to the 3rd person, 3rd person draws a picture based on those words and passes it to the 4th, so forth so on until everyone has participated.

  • Have you done the people bingo game where you have to go around and find who have done certain things? I like this one because you can have general stuff like "Is an only child," "Has a dog" "Is bilingual" or more work related stuff like "Has a professional certification," "Loves public speaking" etc.

Another fun one is to get 50 pennies (make sure you have a good range of dates).  Everyone draws a penny and has to share something special that was going on in their life (or a historical event in society, the company, etc) during the year on the penny.  I did this for a group of 20-30 people and they enjoyed it.

Last suggestion - more along the theme of Valentine's day -- but you could do a "Famous couples match up" where you cut an index card (or perhaps paper hearts!) into two "puzzle pieces" and write one name from famous couples on each half of the card -- example Bonnie/Clyde, Ferdinand/Isabella, etc.  Then people have to run around the room to find their match, and at the end they introduce their match to the group.

I've played this before, but everyone started by writing a song title, and then the next person had to draw a picture and pass it.

    It was hilarious.
