Ladies who have had U/S

How was your baby positioned?  If you are a BTDT momma, what about your older kiddos?  Did you have them vaginally or C-Section?

DS was already head down at 19 weeks.  I had him vaginally 11 days early.

DD is transverse currently.  It is so weird to feel movement left to right instead of up and down.  Last night she felt like she was going to stretch my insides out.  She had some major baby yoga going on last night!

Re: Ladies who have had U/S

  • They've all been head down at each ultrasound (after 20ish weeks) and I have had two vaginal deliveries. I imagine a transverse position would feel so strange!

  • I had my U/S and baby was sideways. I think I remember my last two being in the same position. I had them both vaginally, they were head down by the time I went into labor. For a while I thought he was straight up and down because I felt like he was kicking me down below but I guess he's just been punching me lol.

  • at my ultrasound 2 weeks ago baby was feet down, but lately I've been feeling a ton of movement up high so hopefully he/she has flipped.

First baby was head down sunny side up.  Crossing my fingers for a head down face down baby this time.

  • LO was head-down at 19 wks.  I honestly couldn't tell you how she is right now.  I swear I've felt flipping, but kicks seem to be on either right or left side mostly.

So either she's already a gymnast or I'm too new to this (FTM) to understand her position.  I also have an anterior placenta so I feel like I have a huge "dead zone" of non-kick-feeling.

  • DS2 and this baby were both head down at my a/s roughly 19 weeks for both.  Ds1 was transverse at 20 weeks, but was head down by my follow up u/s at 23 weeks. I had both boys vaginally, one at 38 weeks 5 days, the other at 39 weeks 1 day.

  • DD was transverse at 18 weeks, but I'm feeling all movement down very low, so I think her feet may be pointing down now.  We'll see in a couple weeks when I have a follow up u/s.

  • This baby is apparently a ridiculous little monster, because she was head-down at the beginning of my last u/s, and then they had me lie on my side for a while and when they looked again she was breech. I'm pretty sure she's back to head-down because I can feel the kicks higher up than when she was breech.

  • At the start of the a/s, baby was perfectly vertical in a breech position then I got up to move aroound and he was perfectly vertical, head down. He is all over the place!

With DD, I had a ton of ultrasounds (fluid checks weekly, growth scans, all kinds of stuff) and she was all over the place until 32 weeks or so, even then she would get a bit sideways and whatnot!  I had a vaginal birth with her, she was face up though, which kind of sucked.

  • Lemon was sideways with her head on my right side, and her feet were kind of diagonal down to the left. The tech didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with it.
  • Same story as you! DD1 was head down very early; don't remember exactly when we found that out, probably at the a/s at 18.5w.

This girl of mine has been transverse for as long as I've been feeling movement. She's facing my back with her spine up. The tech did say that her head was lower than her feet, which is good for when she eventually does flip; chances are, she'll flip head down.

  • He is butt-down and hangs out lowwwww in the hood. If my seatbelt tightens in the car he kicks me. Jerk.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • This LO is head down and was facing up.

  • Baby is breech, and has been since the beginning. The Dr. says there is still plenty of time for him to move, so hopefully it will happen. I'm interested to see if LO follows in my path, though. I was breech, and both my mom and uncle were breech.

    Fingers crossed!

  • My babies have been all over the place. A started head down with B the opposite at 8 weeks. At 12 weeks A was transverse left right and B was transverse front back. I'll find out next week but I'm pretty sure one is transverse since I usually feel more around my sides then front.

  • I had so many sonograms with my son as I had mystery joint swelling and rash that my ob was concerned with. He was all over the place all of the time. He was transverse at around 30 weeks, then breech and finally sunny side up. When I went for a sono the day I delivered he was in perfect position. My doula had me do exercises to help get him into position. If you get too far along and the baby doesn't have much room to move, you need to get into positions that will make room for him or her to switch positions.

  • Right now, he's transverse and breech. It's weird, because he is SO LOW. I'm anxious to see what he does between now and my Level II follow-up at the end of the month. But I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that he may not move much.

We lost our first (EDD 07/23/12) after finding out at 12 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat. Our rainbow was born 05/22/13 and was worth all we went through.

  • LO was laying across my stomach.  Her head was on the left and feet on the right.  I think she does a lot of dancing because I always feel her on my right side.

  • He was transverse at my A/S. I'm pretty sure he's breech now, I'll find out Friday at my follow up U/S.

  • DS was breech at his a/s but was head down when I went into labor. He was an emergency c/s though.

DS2 is also breech, anterior placenta with his face in it just like his brother, lol. Hoping his delivery is less eventful but I suppose we'll see.  I think it's still too early to worry about position yet, although transverse has got to feel crazy!

  • DD (still weird to type that... OP you know how I feel Wink ) was sideways at my last ulstrasound, so I am curious to see where she will be at my A/S. I'm not worried by any means since there is plenty of time for her to flip head down, and breech, and back again a bunch of times... DS was always soooo low however, and I never saw him in anything but a head down position. I felt some pretty hard kicks to the cervix with him, so I'm sure he was breech at some points.

When I went in at 20 weeks my girl was in breech, feet first.  The doctor wasn't really concerned, though I still feel her kicking in that position. We'll see what happens.

Exactly the same with me! My doctor said that 50% of babies are breech at this point so she wasn't worried.
