Prepping pockets and AIOs

I have a quick question about prepping my new pocket and AIO diapers.  I am pretty sure that all are synthetic materials (aside from the two bamboo inserts I currently have). That being said, I've read that to prep them, you simply have to wash and dry them once. My question is, should I wash them just like I am washing a normal load of laundry (just one cycle, no extra rinses, etc.)? Or, do I need to wash them a certain way to prep them?

I do know that the bamboo inserts will need to be washed separately and several times before they will reach maximum absorbency. Correct? I am still building my stash (and baby is still 5 weeks away), so I plan to get more hemp/bamboo inserts and prep all of them together.

I also have some used newborn AIOs that I got on Craigslist. Could I just throw those in with the synthetic diaper load?
