When I called my OB on friday to ask for a pregnancy test, I practically had to beg her to test my progesterone as well. I'm not sure why I thought to ask but I thought thta I may as well have it checked since I was on PIO with DD (due to doing IVF.)
Well, she just called and said it's at 7.5. Dr. Google says anything less than 10 can be a threatened pregnancy. The OB said that, with a progesterone that low, they want to confirm the embie is in the correct place before starting me on progesterone supps. The soonest they could get me in, though, is Weds.
So, is Dr. Google correct about the levels needing to be above 10?
I tell ya, this pregnancy is making me go on a rollercoaster of emotions. One second I'm happy I'm pregnant, the next I'm upset because of the timeing, then I'm freaking out due to my levels.
Oh, they said my beta was "just about" 6000. Beta-base is blocked here (stupid work). Can someone please check to see if that level corresponds with what my ticker says?
Re: Talk to me about progesterone
Beta base is broken again, but my level this time was 4909 at 5 weeks and I know that was the high end of normal for that gestation. Best charts I could find was something like this.
And yes...P4 should be above a 10 on a non medicated cycle. I don't see how it could hurt by starting you on it now though.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!

I don't really know a whole lot about having low progesterone because mine was fine with my first two kids but is there a way you could be more pushy with your OB office?
Maybe I'm TOTALLY overreacting and I don't want to scare you more or anything, but if something is too low making you wait for two days to get in before starting you on something is ridiculous. If this is really that big of a deal (which I'm assuming it is if it could be threatening the pregnancy) they should squeeze you in somewhere for an ultrasound today or at least get you on whatever you need to be on TODAY.
I know it's not the same, but I was given progesterone shots once a week until I was 35 and 36 weeks pregnant both times (for PTL reasons) so I don't see how putting you on progesterone could hurt anything.
Maybe that's just me though ... sometimes I tend to overreact.
Hope you don't mind me sneaking in...but I am 12dpIUI and got a positive yesterday so I was looking in on your gals and Mrs.Mo I remember you from back when you were on 3T.
My p4 at 7dpo was only 4.3 on a treatment cycle and they like to see 15. So I sort of flipped out. But I did remember a lot of people telling me about low levels way back in the day. I want to say Mrs. Summit County never had a 10 or above on her successful cycle. Because of that low (even already on oral progresterone at 200mg) they did add 200mg more a day of endometrin (Progesterone up the cootch).
It is surprising that they not only had to be convinced to take your P4 levels but that they wouldn't (at least for piece of mind) Rx something for you until they see where it implanted?
But I know that over the last three years I have see IF'ers with the same story as you go on to healthy pregnancy. FX for you!

My Blog
I swear to God I could have written this when we got pregnant the second time. I think dealing with IF the first time I know more than most "regular" pregnant women. I had to beg my OB office to do a beta and progesteron level/ Mine was 6 and yes Dr. Google is correct, above 9 is condisdered normal. I never did get my beta results.
