DH and I are highschool sweethearts! We met in 9th grade study hall! so we met about 10-11 years ago.
How long did you date for?
we dated for about 2-2.5 yrs
How long have you been married?
7 years!!
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not?
We got married in church we used to attend in a suburb we lived near.
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster?
our wedding was VERY small, less than 30 people. we just wanted family and to be honest the wedding wasnt super important to us, we just wanted to get on with married life! Sadly it was a sad wedding, DH's family was less than supportive of our marriage(we were young) so his mother basically cried through the whole wedding, and they were not happy tears!! my favorite part was after the wedding when we left and went to a hotel and just relaxed, just the two of us! the next favorite was our honeymoon in hawaii!!

Seriously for 3 years - were friends for years before that.
How long have you been married?
5 years this summer.
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not?
We got married in a beautiful, old mansion overlooking Lake Michigan called the Villa Terrace in the city of Milwaukee, WI and had our reception at an Italian restaurant downtown. We did not get married in my hometown because we chose to have the wedding where we had created our new home. Plus there were just more options and cooler venues
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster?
We had a small(er) wedding - 175 people total. My favorite memory was when they first opened the doors for me to start walking down the aisle. Everyone was standing silent and staring at me and all I could hear was the beautiful group of strings playing. It was such a rush!
We didn't have any wedding disasters per say, but it rained the morning of our wedding so I was annoyed that my heels kept sinking into the grass while we were trying to take pictures in the gardens/around the property where we had the ceremony. All and all, it was a pretty perfect day!

Forced break due to DH getting spinal surgery in August 2011

11 years + 3 months. We actually met via online dating!

Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not?
We got married in Dallas, not our home town because Dallas was where we were living at that time and my job was so busy that I wouldn't be able to plan a wedding anywhere else but Dallas. We had both our ceremony and reception at the Dallas Museum of Art. We are art-lovers so the art museum was a perfect choice.
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster?
We had just under 100 guests (pretty great turn-out since 90% of our guests had to travel by plane or car to Dallas). I don't have a "most" fav memory; the whole day was great. The main "disaster" was that my wedding gown was missing a loop-tie for the train, which we didn't know about. My MOH went under my dress to get the train up and was wondering why the loop-ties didn't match! Eventually my MIL helped "fix" it but ended up being a bit lopsided. Don't think anyone else noticed that though!

How long ago did you and YH meet? How did you meet? 16 years ago in college - we had mutual friends, then ended up on a retreat together.
How long did you date for? 5.5yrs

How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? 190; We had a fabulous party - the dance floor was packed all night! No major disasters, but our pictures are pretty terrible (we tried to save money with a cheaper photographer). But we only look at them about once a year, so it is not the end of the world!
I met MH at my first real job out of college in 1997.

A long time married in 2005.

We were married on a permanently moored antique ferry boat on lake union in Seattle. Neither one of us is from Seattle, but it is our current home, so we decided to make family travel to come here.
How many guests were at your wedding?
About 120 most from out of town!
What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding?
Holding MH's hands during our vows while he was had tears streaming down his face.
Any wedding disaster?
We rented our own PA system and the bag of wires and connectors that we brought was nowhere to be found when it was time to set up. We had to delay our ceremony while some friends went to the nearest radio shak to get the missing items!

How long ago did you and YH meet? 10.5 years ago How did you meet? We were both shopping at the mall. The lines at the Gap were long and we started talking while we were waiting. We ended up talking for a while and exchanged emails. We had our first date a few nights later.
How long did you date for? 2 years dating, 1 year engagement
How long have you been married? 7.5 years - 8 years in July
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not? We couldn't find a venue we liked in my home state but found the perfect place in dh's. We had an outdoor ceremony and the. Reception inside the hall. The room was beautiful.
How many guests were at your wedding? About 200. What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Right after the ceremony we had a little private carriage ride around the grounds of the venue. It was so nice to be alone in suce a romantic setting and take a few minutes to just be together. Any wedding disaster? DH forgot to give the DJ my "don't play" list. I knew we were in for it the minute I heard the electric slide play.
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!

How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? Just immediate family. Favorite memnory is just how fun the weekend was. Our families rented out the B&B and we cooked out and drank and just had the best time ever. No disasters.

How long ago did you and YH meet? How did you meet? We met on September 8, 2001, at a post-football game fraternity party at our alma mater, Auburn University. DH's sister was in my sorority and she was trying to set me up with DH's roommate. She brought them both to the party. Sparks did not fly with the roommate, but when I saw DH, I made a beeline to him and struck up a conversation. We stayed up all night talking and went on our first date the very next day. We were inseparable since then.
How long did you date for? 1 year
How long have you been married? We celebrate 10 years of marriage this May!!
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not? We were married in Auburn, the town we met in and went to college in. We were married at the Episcopal church in town. We decided to marry in Auburn rather than our mutual hometown of Mobile because we thought planning a wedding in the same town we lived in would be easier.
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? We had about 150 guests at our wedding. My favorite memory from the wedding has to be a tie between when we took Communion during the service for the first time as husband and wife, and our first dance at the reception. No real wedding disasters- though I was miffed later when I saw the pictures about something. My bouquet was caught by my cousin. However, a girl that one of DH's groomsmen was dating (who he has since married and divorced from) was caught on camera stealing the bouquet. I think she caught bad marriage karma by stealing a bouquet she didn't throw...I mean, seriously?? Who does that?

How long ago did you and YH meet? How did you meet? We met in San diego in 2004. We met through mutual friends. My girlfriends moved into the same complex as a group of guy friends (which included MH) and we all started hanging out.
How long did you date for? We dated for 4 years. 2.5 before getting engaged.
How long have you been married? It'll be 5 years in october
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not? We got married at The Grand Tradition in Fallbrook, CA. It is a wedding facility.
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? We had 155 guests. We didn't have any diasters, thankfully! I don't have a specific favorite part of the day. The entire day from start to finish was perfect. It was a blast!
How long did you date for? We dated for 4 years before we got engaged.
How long have you been married? We've been married for 4 years.
Where did you get married town and type of place, ie, church or other? nbsp; If you did not get married in your home town, why not? We got married in CT, about halfway between my family in NY and my ILs in CT. We were married in a church and our reception was at an old mansion.
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? We had 220 people at our wedding. My favorite memory was walking into our reception together. Everyone cheering and clapping was just a great feeling! No disasters, everything went really smooth.

How long ago did you and YH meet? How did you meet? We were introduced in May of 2001. We were set up by mutual friends who wanted to play matchmaker. I was living in NYC at the time and he was in Portland, which is my hometown.
How long did you date for? We corresponded via email for 8 months before I moved home. We dated for 1 1/2 yrs before he proposed and then engaged for a little over a yr.
How long have you been married? 8yrs
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not? We were married in the parish in which I grew up.
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? Maybe 150? Can't remember. We had a piper and drummer for the processional and recessional. That was awesome. I also loved the soloist for the Ave Maria, when I offered a bouquet of flowers to the statue of St. Mary. No real disaster, but I didn't like our DJ.

How long ago did you and YH meet? We met in November of 2006, so 6 years ago. How did you meet? We totally met at a honky tonk bar. Neither of us go to places like that, but just happened to be there that once. How long did you date for? Two years.
How long have you been married? We just celebrated our 4th anniversary last month.
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not? We got married on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Then again at my church in my hometown. Then again at the JP because the passport office wouldn't accept my Mexican marriage license! It's a big joke in our family that we've officially been married 3 times, and hopefully the third time's the charm.
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? We had 40 people at our wedding in Mexico, which I thought was an outstanding turnout! There were about 20 at the one at my hometown church, most of which had not been able to travel to Mexico.
My favorite memory of the wedding in Mexico (which I consider our real wedding, and the anniversary we celebrate) was when I was walking across the pool area of the resort with my bridesmaids and my mom to get to where the ceremony was, a little girl squealed "Mommy look - a Princess!"
My near disaster was that both the maid of honor and the best man left the rings up in the hotel room! Thankfully, the best man's girlfriend asked him about the ring before the ceremony began, and she took off running to get the ring. On the way she ran into the MoH, who realized she forgot the ring too! So, crisis narrowly averted, but funny nonetheless.

We got married in an Historic Mission in San Antonio, TX, The reception was at an historic hotel in the same room where LBJ and his wife had their reception. We were from different hometowns and San Antonio was the city we met in and fell in love in.

About 100. DH crying during out vows. The disaster was that everyone kept getting lost between the church and the reception because the directions I had put in the invitations were incorrect due to significant road construction going on at the time.

How long did you date for? We dated for 3.5 years before he proposed, 5 years before wedding.
How long have you been married? It was 4 years in November.
Where did you get married (town and type of place, ie, church or other)? If you did not get married in your home town, why not? Houston, in our Church
How many guests were at your wedding? What was your one most favorite memory of your wedding? Any wedding disaster? We had 325 people at our wedding and luckily no disasters! My favorite memory was the moment I saw him for the first time when coming down the aisle.
