Q for STMs...

I have a quick doctor appt. for a chiro referral in the morning. This is going to sound so dumb, but I've never had to take Lucy to one of my appts. She has 3 sets of grandparents within 20 miles...But I scheduled this at the last minute and it's an early appt. so I don't even want to ask.

Soooo, here comes the stupidest question: I can bring my toddler, right? It won't be that bad. People do this. I suddenly feel like a clueless person.

Re: Q for STMs...

  • I take DD to doctors appointments with me - if I have to. I mean, what else are you going to do? I usually hand her my phone and let her play games so she's not a menace, lol.

Thank you! I have no clue why this stumped me for a moment.
Spoiled by plentiful babysitters, party of 1. lol

  • I've brought DS to some of my appts and once where it was just me and him. It may be a little more work, but it can be done.

    Good luck!

You do what you need to do. Bring something to keep her busy.

Good deal. The tablet will be packed. I'm gonna be so spazzed out with two kids, huh?

  • I took my one year old with me to my ultrasound. I just took her snacks and she behaved well. YOu gotta do what you gotta do! The staff was really helpful as well; they played with her and kind of kept her entertained.

  • I think it's totally fine, people around here do it all the time.

I do recall someone at work mentioning that their OB doesn't like you to bring kids along during flu season, just trying to limit exposure to pregnant mamas.  But I don't think it was a hard fast rule.

I'm hoping this will be super quick so she won't run out of stuff to eat or do!

The place that did my NT scan absolutely forbids you from bringing children. They will cancel your appt. and make you reschedule. I think they see higher risk pregnancies so it makes sense.

My PCP is a family practice so I know she sees kids regularly.

God, me too. What are we going to do?

Do as our foremothers before us and drink at night. A lot.

  • DS will sit still longer if he's in his stroller than if he's in a chair - I usually just have my cheapo umbrella stroller.

  • My plan, DH will have a glass of wine waiting for me every single night when I'm done putting the kids to bed. Wine, cheese crackers and a movie or book... That's what my mom did lol and if I couldn't sleep the rule was I could come sit I'm a living room chair couch was hers, watch the movie she was watching... Silently! Lol hey I now love a ton of older movies because of those nights.

As for bringing Lucy, like PPs said its no biggie. I'd suggest a stroller and a snack. M is always calm when she's eating, I've brought her to all but one of my apps.
