I actually like Kraft dinner, lol! But I do love homemade Mac and Cheese too! I dont eat KD often but when I dont have time for anything else I will have it! I havent given it to my LO yet onlbut Im sure I will.
Not Kraft Mac n Cheese but I have tried the Annie's Organic version. I guess I just rationalized that if was "organic," it's a better option. So far, though, don't think we'll be making it a regular rotation. DS wasn't overly into it.
I LOVE Kraft Mac & Cheese. We always have some in the pantry, however, the same 4 boxes have been in there for a year. We rarely eat it. I have fed some to DS, but he didn't like it. I'm pretty sure he's skeptical of noodles, like every other thing I've given him with noodles, he sucked the sauce off & spit it out.
I don't think it's the end of the world if you feed your child mac & cheese (from a box or homemade), just shouldn't be a daily thing.
I have taken DH's easy mac and just given DD2 the noodles. Also, I have saved the packs of "cheese" and sprinkled it over a box of noodles and added butter for some flavoring so it wasn't just straight up noodles. I don't think it would be the zombie apocolypse before I fed it to DDs, but I wouldn't make a habit of either. Its pinch food for me.
If the first word in your question is "gross" then maybe you shouldn't feed it to LO.
I eat it occassionally, but I haven't for a long time. I probably will give it to DD when she is older, but not anytime soon. It has no nutritional value, so I'd rather feed her things that will help her grow healthy instead of empty calories right now. Like I said, when she's older, sure.
My kid loves to eat our version (and I love how easy and fast it is). Boil 2 parts milk to 1 part pastina until the pasta has absorbed all of the liquid. Throw in some sprinkle cheese of your choice. It melts quickly. Let it cool, and put it on the tray for LO. It's easy to swallow, but thick enough to self feed. Just watch out for coughing. Stars go flying! You can also throw a veggie into the mix just for fun, too.
I've been doing 1/2 cup milk to 1/4 cup pastina and then still giving him a meat, veggie or fruit with it.

Boil macaroni of your choice, drain, add milk, butter and cheese of your choice. We like cheddar and Munster.
