Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Those having trouble with sudden night waking

My baby is a little over seven months and two weeks. He was sleeping in 4-5 hour stretches at night and some nights waking a bit more. He was eating about 2-3 ounces when he woke up. On Saturday we had a busy day and he was unable to nap past 4 PM. That night he was down by 9 PM, Went down in crib and to sleep with NO crying (had his sleep mobile on 15 timer). He slept 9 hours straight!!! Tried the same yesterday and he slept 10 and 1/2 hours!!!! I guess if he's sleepy enough he'll sleep through the night and some without any crying!!! I'm not sure if this is necessarily "by the books" but it's working for us and wanted to share :)

I should note that I did use the controlled CIO method first he just kept waking to snack when I knew he didn't need it...

 Hope this helps someone!

  • Agreed! We had much better sleeping when DC would keep DD awake until we got there instead of letting her nap in the late afternoon.
