Sex before pp checkup???

Tomorrow is 3 weeks since DD was born. I had a RCS. And I am *SO* wanting to jump DH's bones!!! We hadn't done anything for a few weeks before the delivery because I had high blood pressure and DH was worried that any action would just make it worse. Ugh. How bad is it if the bleeding is over, but I technically haven't gotten doctor approval yet?

Oh and I never dilated at all, but I did start to have very irregular contractions while waiting to go into the OR that night.

I'm sure I know the answer is to not do is, don't risk infection, etc. but ...... I can't be the ONLY one who wants to get some!!!

I'm not sure the risk is worth the reward IMO. However why don't you just call your dr and ask if its ok?

It must be a hormonal thing... I have always been attracted to DH, but, OMG, I find myself thinking about him ALLLLLLLLL day long! I have another 3 weeks until my PP checkup & I don't think I can make it!!

My midwife told me to wait 6 weeks, but then said that people rarely do wait and if you decide to do it to use a condom. We waited, but I have zero sex drive right now so it wasn't a big deal to me.

I'm in the same boat as you!! My understanding is that pelvic rest is to allow your uterus to heal where the placenta detached. Increased
Risk of infection.

Well, the decision is up to you. We went for it at 4 weeks. No problem here. 6 week check up tomorrow.

Wait. Dilation isn't the issue. Regardless of how you deliver, you still have a gaping hole in your uterus where the placenta detached. Just because it isn't bleeding doesn't mean it's completely healed, kwim? Do people ignore the guidance a lot of the time? Yes, and most of them are going to be fine. But the risk of fertility impacting infection is real. I think of it like seat belts. You COULD drive around without one all the time and you'll probably be fine. But why risk it when you know how bad it can be if something were to happen?

yeah. no. You can wait. I'm sure people do, but it's a bad idea. Isn't your check-up at 4 weeks? You can do something else for another week.

Yep ditto all of this. Wasn't worth the risk to me.
