I posted a week ago that DD had HFM and it was the worst case that the hospital had ever seen. It turned out she actually was having an allergic reaction to amoxicillian. The doctor said you either get a rash on the 7th day of being on it or 3 to 5 days after you stop taking it. Her rash showed up 4 days after stopping it. 

It is just aggravating that one doctor said it was just a rash, another doctor said it was hfm and her doctor determined it was an allergic reaction.

She still has the rash, but was given steroids to help with the redness and to make the bumps go down some. She has had the rash 11 days now. It seems to be getting better but is still everywhere.

My DD had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin 2 weeks ago after taking it for 7 days, so right on schedule apparently. She was on a steroid once a day and Claritin twice a day. The hives cleared up within a few days but DD's wasn't miss diagnosed, so she was on the steroid the day the rash broke out. At least we found these allergies early because the doctor said allergic reactions can be more severe if they develop later in life who knows if this is true or if he was just trying to make me feel better.

 Poor little girl! I hope it clears up soon. I have a serve reaction to it too.

Poor LO! When you posted the pictures, it looked like chicken pox to me. Gator had HFM and it looked nothing like your LO's. So crappy that they didn't catch it as a reaction, but at least you know now and she is able to recover quickly!!

Poor baby girl   I've always feared N having a reaction, since I am allergic to amoxicillin.
