Success after IF

Teeth!

I am seeing them now just poking through the gums. I guess I can forgive DS's fussiness the past few days! Thankfully his sleep hasn't been too bad. I can't believe how big my baby is getting!

I have read that teething doesn't really cause fever or stuffiness though many parents report these symptoms while teething. But today I noticed DS has been running warm today and has been coughing more. What has been your experience?

Re: Teeth!

  • DD has never had fevers associated with teething. She has 9 teeth including 2 molars. She does however get a nonstop runny nose but the snot is clear.

  • With the bottom teeth, she did not have any fever, but had tons of drooling and loose stools, which led to bad diaper rash.

She's cutting her top teeth now and has been running a low-grade fever for almost two weeks (no other cause that we can find).  It's been in the 99.4 - 99.9 range most days.  Most of my friends with kids said it's common to have a low grade fever with teething.

Not sure about the stuffiness- DD has been stuffy on and off all fall/winter, so I don't even really notice.  I just keep a humidifier on low in her room every night.

  • DS always got a slight fever (but never higher than 99.5), super red cheeks, drooly, and cranky when teething. A few days before any teeth appeared he would have one or two horrible nights of sleep.

  • During every teething escapade with DS he has had a low grade temp and fussiness. He will also tug at his ear. I hate teething. I dont like to see him suffer. Boo.

  • My DD was sporting two nice rosey cheeks yesterday & running a mild fever so this would be her norm for teething.  DS does not seem to have the same reaction just lots of drooling & fussiness.  The joys of teething!
