Congestion after eating?

I just tried to google this problem thinking it was normal.....but maybe it isn't.  After feeding my DS (he is breastfed), he is always very congested.  It's not normally that big of a deal until the middle of the night feeding.  After I feed him, I lay him down and he just sounds so congested and uncomfortable.  Normally, I end up having to pick him up and have him sleep on my chest. His bed is elevated already due to suspected reflux but that doesn't seem to help.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: Congestion after eating?

  • Our doc told us it was from the reflux.  My guy is always worse at night.

  • When DS was at that age, he did the same thing. Dr. and nurses said it was totally normal, and it will most likely dissipate on its own... and it has. ?They told me it is all related to their immature systems, and once they grow, it resolves itself. ?If it isn't coming out of his nose, and if you don't feel or hear a rattling in his chest, most likely all is fine.
