My memory is crap, but it was you I was talking to about eminent domain, right?
I don't know if you have any answers for me, but here it goes
What it looks like will happen is they will build a bridge over the railroad down the street and for whatever reason will widen our road, which is a side street. According to the plans, they will take our ENTIRE front yard as a right of way. Like, literally to our front door. Now, the meeting to explain what all is going on isnt until the 26th, but I would like to know what if anything will happen here. I've had people tell me I'll be SOL b/c it's right of way, not taking property, i've had someone say they may offer to take the house. I'm so confused. And I'm in the process of finding an attorney, but apparently this specialty isn't so widespread

Wait, just for clarification. The road wouldn't be coming to our stoop. The right of way would. Does that make a difference?
