I am baffled that this is judgeworthy. DS wears sweatpants all the time. He's a KID. I want him to be comfortable. Would you want to run around and be active in JEANS? My niece also wears leggings a lot despite the prevailing belief that legging are NOT to be worn as pants. Different rules for kids, I say.
I never put C in jeans.nbsp; They just don't seem comfortable to move in when they're that little.nbsp; Plus she has a minor issue with her leg that makes jeans constrictingnbsp;for her.nbsp; She's always in sweatpants, leggings, or yoga pants.
We should have a "trashy pants" play date. In PUBLIC.
IDK about sweats in public. On anyone. I don't even really care about PJ pants on people. I'd rather see teens wearing PJ pants than shorts that are more like underwear.
I often wear my black sweats (straight bottom, no elastic :P ) when I have my period because I'm so bloated my jeans won't button comfortable. My kid wears sweats a lot because we're often doing nothing besides playing at home and if I happen to have to run to the store for some milk I'm not wasting an outfit change on just that.
They are being way picky. My DH wears sweatpants in public, even on the rare occassions we go to a nice restaurant or something and he sees me getting dressed up. He's a little clueless.
I wouldn't judge a kid's parents for sending them to daycare in sweats. It wouldn't even occur to me. It's totally NBD.
One time, when my phone broke within 24 hours of being activated, I was so p1ssed that I stormed into the Sprint store wearing my running attire: Spandex shorts and tank.
I just didn't GAF. They sold me a shiitty phone. Phone > what I look like in public.
(Yes, I am aware that I may have a technology addiction.)
That seems a little crazy to me. He's a kid. FWIW, my almost 3-year-old absolutely refuses to wear anything but sweatpants recently. He likes to be comfy.
Yeah I'm not really getting the side eye thing here. It's just a style of clothing, like PP said, comparable to skinny vs boot cut jeans. WGAF. As long as the child is dressed in some way that's appropriate for the weather then I don't see how it matters. DD has a couple pairs of pants that are fleece or sweat pant material, elastic top but not bottom. They're just another pair of pants. Once she even went to daycare with her pj top on bc she wouldn't let me take it off her and we were running late. AND it was a BOY pj top! GASP!
I do think its funny though that jeans and khakis are now considered "dressier" clothes. A generation before us thought they were work clothes only.
DH and I never let the boys wear sweatpants outside of the house. We consider that lounging apparel for at home. Neither of us would wear sweat pants outside of the house either, I think its important to dress well during the day.
I totes agree. I only dress my child as if he were interviewing. It's good to make a first impression early.
Does this thinking apply in the summer, too? Do kids have to be wearing denim or khaki shorts? Are elastic waist knit shorts side-eye worthy, too, or is it only an issue with full length pants?
Knit basketball/athletic shorts like Nike would be OK on a school aged kid, but yeah I'd side eye the seven in plain elastic waist shorts instead of khaki or canvas pants with a traditional fly.

I do hope you all wear tuxedos to job interviews.
I think you are a tad bit ridiculous.
