Anyone make their own K'tan?

I have been thinking about buying a K'tan for Baby2 and I've seen a few tutorials online for how to make your own either no sew from old T-shirts or sewn from yardage of Jersey Fabric. There's a ton of different patterns to choose from!

I'm just wondering if anyone has actually made and used one of the DIY versions? I'm curious to know if they are worth the time and effort to make, if they actually hold up or if they get stretched out, and perhaps what tutorial people have had good luck with? Or should I just spend the $50 and be done with it? lol Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks for the advice, I just requested to join the group there! I thought it seemed liked a simple enough design to recreate, but my concern was the fabric and getting that right, I think I'll play it safe and buy one. I want to make sure it works properly. Thanks again!

I bought a new one for $25 or so on ebay.  I would also be hesitant to make one.
