I have tried everything!

So I have mentioned to you all earlier that I was scared to get morning sickness.  Well it has arrived.  Does anyone have any suggestions? I am flying next week too :( I will be in New Jersey for a week without my husband and dog :( And I don't feel  good at all.

This is what I have done so far. I take Zofran and dramamine when I am nauseas. Also bought the sea bands and ginger gum. Have oyster crackers, saltines, lifesaver mints, and popices. It does do wonders when I eat snacks every couple of hours but I cannot handle feeling like this anymore. I want to ball up and lay in bed for the next 9  months if this is what I am going to feel like.  How did you women do it with more than one kid? Was it not that bad for you?

I think maybe I am being a little bit of a baby maybe  IDK? It comes in waves.

Re: I have tried everything!

  • It seems like you're doing everything you can. I had awful morning sickness for about two weeks. I even lost about four pounds. It was terrible and I hated every second of it, but I'm better now and it's completely gone. Just remember it will pass and you are growing a beautiful baby!

  • I am having the same problem! What I find that works is if i eat a little something every 2 to 3 hours.
  • Unfortunately, there's not anything that can 100% make it better, and there are days that will be miserable and suck, plain and simple.

When I first started getting m/s, I did the crackers all day thing, but honestly, as gross as food always sounds, it's a lot better to eat something small frequently all day long. Also, start off your morning by eating a slice of toast or something as soon as you get up, then rest a bit, and eat something else after that settles.

It sucks, but just keep reminding yourself why you're doing it! It will get better (at least that's what I keep telling myself Wink)

  • Would it help at all to try to eat bigger meals?  I have felt sick all day, finally ate a big dinner of Pizza Hut and feel so much better now.  With my first pregnancy my midwife said most women either like greasy or sweet/sour to help nausea.  With DS I ate jolly ranchers to help, this time around I seem to lean more towards greasy so far.

  • I would suggest lemon drops.  They worked for me and one of my friends.  I also found dry toast first thing in the morning helps.  Hopefully it will get better soon!

  • My Dr. suggested 25 mg of vitamin B6 3x per day and it has really worked wonders for me!

I was unable to find 25mg pills but I did find 50mg and cut them in half. I seriously feel like a different person after taking them!

  • This is my 5th pregancy and I am only 6 weeks so far but I have felt nauseous for 2 weeks . When I get up I'm starving and I feel so bad , so I eat something small then I feel ok . If I eat alot it makes me feel worse . So I'm trying to stick with small meals or sma snacks . Also what seems to be helping me is extra chewing gum the spearmint kind . I haven't threw up yet but all the other times I was pregnant I threw up for the first 3 months and I use to have to eat crackers as soon as I woke up while laying in bed for a few mins . I hope this helps .
  • Oh! Just remembered! What really helped me! Keep water and maybe crackers by your bed. Sip the water every time you wake up at night and in the morning before you get up. That worked wonders. Also consider trying a different vitamin. I had to stop taking mine because I just threw it up. I think I had morning sickness and my vitamin was also making me sick.
  • for me when I am able to eat it helps to lay down for a while after. It helps me keep what i just ate down. I lay on the couch and close my eyes and it helps a little. Otherwise even if i manage to eat something I throw it up and then my stomach is empty again making the cycle worse.
