Climbing out of crib

Well, the time has come. DD has officially learned how to climb out of her crib this afternoon at nap time. She is 2 years and 8 months. How she went this long who knows, but we are waiting the arrival of her big girl bed any day now and her baby sister will be here in a few months.

How did you handle climbing out of the crib with bed/nap times?

The unsafe way... we were waiting for DDs full mattress to come in and she fell out...once... and never did it again. Can you take the front rail off and have it as a toddler bed until the new one comes?

I taught LO how to climb out safely and surrounded his crib with pillows.  It worked for a few more months

she learned to climb out at 18 months and went into a twin bed right away.  I was just about 3 months pg so it worked out well.  We moved her to a big girl room in a big girl bed and saved the baby room for the baby, but the time the baby came she didn't even remember it was once her room.

I would just take the crib mattress out of the crib and put in a corner of the room until her big girl bed arrives.  Better to be safe in my opinion.

We laid her crib mattress on the floor until we got her new bed.
