Mobile in crib?

Anyone have a mobile in their crib? I have not used one because I heard they were too stimulating when they are newborns. But now that he's 2 months, I thought it might help during nap time. He sttn in his crib but will not nap in there. At all. Ever. So I thought it might help. Any thoughts?

We have this one. The arm comes off so you can have it just as the music box or with the animals. LO loves to spend quiet time watching it, the animals are done like marionettes so they spin around as the frame turns.

It does not put LO to sleep. But if I need him to relax in the crib while I eat or fold laundry he will watch it for a good 20 minutes.

We have one with animals. K just started sleeping in her crib Monday, so I haven't used it at night time. The music is ridiculously loud. I have put her in there to watch it during the day. Its just entertaining to her, doesn't put her to sleep.

dh made this one, and dd loves it. she talks to it and watches it... but i dont think it helps her go to sleep...

N has a mobile in his crib that I put up a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't sleep in his crib yet, but I will put him in there sometimes while I'm doing things and he likes to watch it and hear the music.

LOVE your mobile. I'm guessing your little one's nursery has an elephant theme. So does mine I also really like the elephant pillow in the background of your adorable siggy pic. Can I ask where you got it?

Jackson has a mobile I ordered from etsy at I just love.  It's more for me than him at this point! LOL  He doesn't seem to notice it!

My son LOVES his! During the day for nap time I turn it on after I feed and change him. He will just stare at it until he falls asleep. The only thing that sucks about it, is it is one of the ones you have to twist up.. So I have to keep doing that so the music will keep playing. lol
For christmas he got one of those pillow pet dream lights. At night I will just turn that on and he falls right asleep. I would definitly recommend one of those

Thanks! Elephants are popular in the world of baby stuff right now! They make for such a cute nursery theme, don't they?

Oh, thanks about the pillow... I actually made it, there was a sale on baby flannel this fall. I went overboard nesting, and sewed mostly everything for the nursery, if I didn't find it at IKEA!

A has a mobile in his crib he loves it but it never puts him to sleep! I wish it did but the music doesn't play long enough

There's a mobile in G's crib that I'll put on occasionally. She likes to watch it move but it doesn't put her to sleep. What works for her is this vtech sight and sound thing that projects animation on the ceiling and plays music. Greatest invention!

There's a mobile hung from the ceiling above his crib that I made... He likes looking at it. Especially if the light's off, but the lamp is on; it casts a pretty cool shadow.

The theme is Noah's ark. There are animals in pairs: birds, giraffes, turtles, and elephants. I made it with a branch, scrapbook paper and fishing line.

 

But we also have one of these that he will watch, doesn't put him to sleep, but calms him down... then I can just go in there and give him his paci and he's out. Like a light.

We have a simple one from Pottery Barn Kids with sheep that rotate and music. No lights. LO likes to watch it and smiles, but its just a distraction when we are unswaddling or dressing her. It doesn't put her to sleep.

I have this too, from my sister who swears by it. Both of her kids loved it. M seems to like it so far and i think it helps her fall asleep.
