Success after IF

Redness at injection site

E had her 6 month appt. yesterday. The good news is she is up to the 16th and 17th percentile for height and weight, and a whopping 66th percentile for head circumference! The bad news is she STILL has thrush, so 2 more weeks of treatment for both of us.

My question though, is she has about a dime size red spot around one of her injection sites she got 4 injections, only one site is red. Is this normal or should I call pedi?

Re: Redness at injection site

  • I think it can be normal for certain vaccines. I would watch it and call if the area of redness gets larger.

  • My LO's never had anything more than a pin point of redness on their injection sites, I would run it by the pedi just for peace of mind.  If that is the only reaction she is having to her shots its probably fine.

  • I'm sorry to hear that you both still have thrush. That sucks. Dexter just had his shots and there wasn't any redness with his. I think a call to the Dr is a good idea to put your mind at ease.

It looks like both our lo's have giant heads! Dexter is 86 percentile for weight, 38 percentile for height, and above 100 percentile for head! That growth curve cracks me up every time I see it.

  • My oldest had no reactions to any of her shots.  My youngest would get red spots, with knots under her skin.  If you are concerned, call the pedi.  You won't stop worrying until you do!

  • A just had her two month shots.  She developed a little red area around the site of injection but we expected it because the DR said that could happen and was completely normal.  She said to treat the area like a big bruise and be very gentle with her.  I hope E is feeling better!
