...you know, you don't actually have to sleep train a baby. Or let them CIO.
It's honestly not nearly as required as everyone in the world seems to think it is... and if doing it is making you get less sleep, then maybe it's not right for you at this time.
I bring LO in bed to me at 5am. It's just easier and no one has to cry.
This. CIO causes permanent emotional problems. Your LO depends on you for love and comfort. Please don't deprive them of that.
Try to pick a long weekend like the pp suggested. FWIW DS never cried more than 20 minutes and it really wasn't even a cry more of a fuss and babbling which leads me to believe he was ready to be put down and go to sleep without my assistance.
CIO is not for everyone and will not work for every child. But I honestly believe that if you are doing controlled cio with checks and comfort you are not harming your child. My baby was up every hour after I put him down and that was after about an hour of rocking and laying down and then him screaming and me picking him right up and the cycle starting all over again. I understand he is little and it won't be like this for long but lack of sleep is just as dangerous in my eyes. he was getting tops 5 hours total in a 24 period time which is crazy for a baby.
I found this link, I haven't had time to research the study but it I feel like it has some useful information. Please don't let anyone make your feel guilty about CIO as long as you are doing it in a safe manner for your child then I believe you know what is best for your child.
Well working full time is a large part of why we did it, I only did bed time initially and once lo started sttn a few times, I stopped responding to night time whining unless he gets worked up. Before that, he would typically wake up once and get a bottle.
I did feel bad but my lo wakes up happy and is an overall happy loving sweet baby who gets attention all day long. I'm a better mom with sleep. I don't enjoy being a working mom but its a whole lot more manageable on a full nights rest.

Good luck!
This is what we did too.
We started on a long weekend on the Friday. Friday was 1 hour of crying, Saturday was 17 minutes, Sunday 7 mins, Monday was 5 minutes, Tuesday was 2 minutes. So by Sunday it wasn't taking too long for LO to go to sleep and we got the long night over in the first night.
BTW: latest research shows that CIO has no permanent psychological harm, so don't worry. I know I am a better mommy with a full night's sleep. A sleep deprived mommy is more likely to get into an auto accident by falling asleep at the wheel.
