flying this early

Anyone have anything they take or do on a long flight. Of course it has to be safe but I am a nervous wreck when it comes to flying....plus I'm pregnant. Don't want to stress my body out this early in my pregnancy.

Re: flying this early

  • I always pack my kindle and also try to sleep on the really long flights.  If you're having morning sickness, be sure to bring hard candy, saltines, or whatever calms your stomach and get a ginger ale and a big bottle of water after you're through security.  I also recommend getting an aisle seat so it's easy to get up and stretch or run to the bathroom if you need.

    Safe travels!

  • I'm flying next week and plan on taking saltines, almonds, and mints with me on the plane. I will also have my iPad and probably catch a nap too. Try to relax a bit about flying. It's really not that bad. I find when I get nervous about turbulence or something, I see what the flight attendants are doing. If they are still up and moving around, it's not really that bad of turbulence.  Safe travels!

  • flying is not bad for the baby. hopefully you can relax. the only problem you'll have is more propensity toward nausea. I flew at 5.5w, 6w, 7w, and 8w during my last pg and definitely felt like I was going to vomit a lot of the time (except for the first one before any nausea hit yet). Just be prepared with your strongest anti-nausea weapons and you'll be ok. I didn't even end up throwing up.
