Rate for babysitter?

What is the going rate? Would it be more if it was a DC teacher?

More in the cities than in rural MN... I think here in rural Mn 5 dollars an hour is okay. I'm not sure about the cities; I lived there for nine years but didnt have kids yet!

Going rate for a dc teacher in my area is 12-20 per hour, but that is usually for overnights or 2 kids

I am a teacher and I babysit on the side for some extra cash -  I live in the lake Mtka area -  I charge 12 for one child plus a dollar for each child per hour.

I've heard the going rate in my area is $10 or so for high school/college students.  I would guess an adult would be more.
