Urine temp when testing

Test instructions say room temp urine when testing... After you pee in the cup, do you test right away or wait until the urine is really "room temperature"?

Re: Urine temp when testing

  • Mine have done just fine right out of the bladder so I think you are ok.

  • I can't imagine that it would make that much of a difference but if any temp urine was fine, I'm wondering why they would put it in the directions.... Well, maybe that was a dumb since they do put "do not eat" in the instructions too :P

    JFC, seriously?

Hey now, it wasn't the stupidest question you've heard...

  • imageSlapptastic:

It's in regards to if the urine was refrigerated.

You can dip in fresh piss.

    Ah, makes sense. Alright.

  • Its really a moo point what temperature your urine is, unless you're one of those weirdos who stores it for prolonged periods of time. Just PIAC, dip your stick and get it over with.

  • What do you think room temperature means? It doesn't mean it needs to be 72 degrees.

Yes. B/c if I just googled it I might get 10,000 different answers. Google can be the enemy.

  • You should test the urine temp by dabbing a bit on your inner wrist like you do with baby bottles.
  • I definitely don't like my pee sitting around in my bathroom. I pee, test and dump lol.

If you want to google, then next time try something like:

    thebump OPK urine room temperature

    ;)  YWIA

But, why when it's much easier to pester all of you :P

Actually in my defense my thought process was the human body is normally at about 98 degrees and isn't room termperature like 72, so the thought crossed my mind that the urine could be too warm for the test to function properly... And this is why I over think things LOL

I feel really uncomfortable when I see Juli post here because I feel like, if she gets pregnant and her uterus essplodes, I'm kind of responsible.

    What? Why?

This, I think it was a very valid question.  Everyone always gets their panties in a bunch when people do dumb things without reading the test instructions.  Well she did.

Well JFC did I say anything about this thread?  No, in other threads when people post "I read the test ten minutes later", or 'I took the test apart" people go nuts because they didn't read the directions(and rightfully so, I never said they were wrong to get annoyed by it).  In this case the OP did read the directions and had a question about it, I just didn't see why most people felt it was such a dumb question.  She should at least get points for reading the directions.
