Preemies

Shoe question

So DD is like her mama and has tiny feet add that to being a preemie and she is doomed, lol. She is now at the point where she wants to "walk" all over. As in us holding both hands and her taking steps. Problem is only the soft sole shoes fit her! Any one else have this issue or know of any tiny brand hard sole shoes? Help Me Grow comes out once a month to keep an eye on her and suggested putting her in shoes to help her grip the ground better but she slides with the soft sole shoes. TIA

Re: Shoe question

  • What about a shoe like this? Stride Rite has shoes called crib & crawl (they are the shoe before the pre-walkers). Personally I just let my 10 month old wear the robeez shoes around the house. She doesn't really have any desire to walk yet. The sizes start at baby 1-baby 4.

  • Thanks ladies! We let her roam around in socks and bare feet most of the time. Just want her to have a little more traction to see how that feels for practice. Also to get her used to wearing shoes, just for fun right now.

  • Definitely don't get something hard.  A podiatrist friend can't say enough that barefoot (or socks, but they're slippery) is the best, plus it's grippy.

However, I really liked the Stride Rite step 2 shoes - the soles are really thin and flexible but they have some traction on them.  That's the first pair we bought when DD started walking.
