  • I've been pretty "out and proud" about eating sushi from reputable places throughout my pregnancy, but last night I was a little relieved to be wearing a loose-fitting top so no one in the place could tell I was knocked up. I wouldn't have cared about anyone's judgment, but it was nice to eat in peace and not have to think about people staring. I told DH about the big shirt relief and he said I was being ridiculous, and we had on numerous occassions seen very pregnant women enjoying the same lovely sashimi I was eating, and that people don't judge.

  • My FFFC is I hate Shamrock Shakes. I don't like whatever the stuff is McD's uses to make "milk" shakes (it's not like real hard ice cream).

I also think spending over $500 on maternity clothes is straight up dumb. Unless you are in a super professional work environment and need nice suits or something. And trying to wear maternity pants after pregnancy is actually annoying. They slide down and make you feel disheveled. At least all my cords and jeans did like a week after having G.

Not with that attitude, it won't. You need to give out random hints that makes everyone thinks it's them.  Muahahaaaa

  • I have another one.. I am guilty of going on boards that I think some of my friends, or acquaintances (or even enemies) may be on, and lurking to see if I recognize their screennames or pics of them.  I haven't found anyone yet, but I am keeping my eye out. LOL

  • I think 3-D ultrasounds are hella creepy.  The babies always look like gummy bears and/or aliens to me, and they've never once looked like the actual baby, that I'VE been able to tell. I get why people want to do them, but people (lookin' at you, MIL) need to get over the fact that I am NOT spending the money on one.

I feel like there should be a cap on number of threads each user can start in a day.

Yesss. Although, there are some posters whose threads I just skip, so in my brain I create a quote - I won't read more than 1 a day from most of those people, maybe even 1 every few days. I don't even dislike those posters. I think a couple of them are pretty cool. But the constant AWing is annoying, and I've noticed threads that should otherwise get more traffic get buried because of the AWing.

  • My FFFC is kind of 2 parts

I haven't had my cat fixed yet... he's 10 months old. I'm one of those spay/nueter your animals sticklers but I just haven't gotten around to it yet with Diego. I mean he's an indoor cat, the only animal we have, he isn't spraying, his pee doesn't smell horrible yet etc. Plus the vet we use is a 45minute drive away, and he has to be dropped off by 7am and picked up no later then 5pm. Which is a major pain in the butt for us because DH has to be at work by 7:30am and doesn't get home until 4:15-4:30 and he has ZERO personal time left to use.

Second part, related to the first. I have always been super against declawing cats but Diego has DESTROYED our current furniture and we've tried everything and nothing works. Luckily he sticks to purely our furniture and not our apartment walls but still... I know vertical clawing tends to be a problem in male cats up until they are neutered but what if that doesn't stop it? I need to get a new couch and can't have him destroying it... our vet declaws but ONLY if the animal is being fixed because they don't put an animal under anesthesia more than once unless medically necessary.  So it's like, do we just go ahead and get him declawed, which is against how I feel AND really expensive, to absolutely fix the problem or do we skip it and pray to god that just fixing him will stop the clawing... and if it doesn't be sh!t out of luck.... Serious moral dilemma and I'm leaning toward just declawing him.

I've spent about $700 on maternity clothes so far... I bought a bunch of stuff when I found out I was pregnant, then took some of my Christmas present money and bought more, and I get a monthly allowance for clothes (my husband has to put me on an allowance, or I would go nuts).  I have a freaking problem, and I need to stop. The good news is, I've been buying stuff that I can continue to wear after pregnancy.  Lots of cardigans and ruched tops.  Also, I have one pair of maternity work pants that I ADORE and plan on wearing even when I'm out of maternity clothes.

Now... off I go to OldNavy.com to buy more stuff :-(

OMG me too!  I thought I was the only one with a monthly clothes budget!!!

I haven't bought a ton of maternity stuff yet - but I will.  I have a few pairs of pants and a few shirts, but I'm not even wearing most of the shirts yet.

I have a monthly clothing budget too and I told DH I'm not sharing with LO so we need to discuss what her budget will be and until we do its been kind of a free for all. :)

I have one kind of? I get annoyed when people post that it's their "obligatory a/s results". Don't act like you're obligated to do so. I know I was not obligated I'm an AW when it comes to certain things and my baby is one of them. No shame in my game but don't act like you're obligated to share with us. You want to and we [At least I am] are excited for you! Those who aren't will just pass over it.

I'm pretty sure this done TIC because of all the UOs and FFFCs about people being tired of seeing/not wanting to open A/S posts.

Gotcha, that makes more sense. I think people complaining about not wanting to see them or open them is lame too. We're all due in the same month- there will be a flooding of similar posts as we go through similar things. I do appreciate whoever (BLT?) made the baby name posts sticky, those posts were getting old and I'm pretty sure everyone knows my baby names from the 100 times those threads came up lol.

I used to be super anti-declawing until I had a cat that destroyed my couches. I still think it is pretty awful, but also feel that if they never get outside and it makes the family happier, the cat will have a happier life.

  • I hate that maternity clothes are all friggin horizontally striped AND/OR low-cut. I'm a big girl. I don't need to emphasize this fact or risk the girls falling out every day. Very annoying.

And I have 2 pairs of maternity jeans that I wear 4-5 days a week. I alternate of course. But I refuse to pay $60 for a pair of khakis.

  • I have a third confession. A girlfriend of mine is giving me her baby girl's hand-me-down clothes, and I have ZERO interest in them. They're all nasty materials (girlfriend is fond of her polyester and acrylic type fabrics) and ZOMGPINKPINKPINKPINK frilly everything. I've been putting her off and telling her things like, "Oh, I'll pick them up from you later in the pregnancy, we haven't had the baby's dresser delivered yet," but I'm thinking of creative ways to avoid the whole thing. I might just wait and eventually tell her that we got enough clothes as gifts and from our shower that we really don't need more. Or get them and not actually dress the kid in them. The problem I foresee is that another mutual friend is also offering me stuff, and her baby's wardrobe as gorgeous and comfortable - very good materials and she took great care of everything. She's done having kids, and I would LOVE some of her stuff. I'm afraid the other friend will find out and get offended.

I would just wait and tell her you have more clothes than you know what to do with, and thanks but no thanks. Like you suggested.

No :( I've been meaning to get an actual post for a while... he has a couple scratchers that hang on a door knob or lay on the floor and he pays no attention to them. DH doesn't think he'll use one because he literally only scratches our couches and they are like a fake leather material, and the scratchers are all a carpeting of some sort.

Fountain Coke? The best ever. I swear I drank one almost everyday when I was pregnant with DD1. I couldn't stomach coffee, so I stopped at the McD's across from my work every morning and got a fountain Coke. Fanfreakingtastic they were.

Couches, door frames, etc. I'm very anti-declawing but if you're renting and you're afraid he might go after door frames, I'd really think about it. Or claw caps. https://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4033287

I have a male cat who is neutred. The only thing he claws is his scratching post. Do you have something he is allowed to scratch? We used the water bottle method and sprayed him whenever he clawed something he shouldn't have.

They do, but they are stubborn. Very stubborn. They have no fear of the water bottle. One actually enjoys it.

This is us, our cat doesn't respond to anything. He even likes baths! The one thing we haven't tried is getting that sticky tape stuff that you're supposed to cover the scratched surface with, but it's really expensive for the amount we would need.

We got a rope one and we sprayed it with catnip once a day. He gets attracted to it because of the smell. He then realized that he didn't get in trouble when we scratched it so it was ok to do so. We also got one that is like 5 foot tall and put it next to a window so he can sit on top and look outside.

Just use regular tape. Or get newspaper and spray liquid glue on it. They won't like the noise/feel of it. I promise you that you can train cats not to scratch and you don't have to declaw.

I would definitely try to exhuast your options before declawing. I tried all kinds of scratchers with my cat and she would just sit on them and stare at me. I also tried the caps which came off pretty frequently. I totally understand your frustration and guilt at the same time. I didn't end up declawing her, and never found anything that worked either.

I have a third confession.

I say take horrendous clothes, donate most of them and keep a few of the least offensive outfits.  Put LO in said outfit(s) whenever you see that girlfriend.  Problem solved!

She actually asked for the stuff back though. She says she's not done having kids and neither is her sister. I'd basically have to store it in a bin or something until some point when I could be like, "Hey, thanks for these! Here they are back!"

Tell her you don't want to risk the stuff getting stained or torn so she should just keep it for her next LO or for her sister.
