Keesler AFB/Babymoon

Ok so DH and I are headed to Keesler for him to get eye surgery in several weeks. Since he won't be dead to the world after about day 3, I figured we should capitalize on the trip, since we have to be there for an additional 4 days, we might as well have a babymoon in conjunction. I have never been to Keesler and was wondering if anyone knows some fun sights to go to or good local restaurants that they can recommend.

The Blow Fly Inn in Gulfport is a really good restaurant - it was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. If you like casinos, the ones on the Biloxi strip are pretty fun. Just down Hwy 90 is a little town called Ocean Springs - so cute! You need to go to Tat-o-Nut Donuts one morning in Ocean Springs. Be prepared to wait in line, but they're worth it. OS also has some good restaurants (Manhattan Grill and Phoenicia are our favorites) and cute shops. If you wanted to venture farther, New Orleans is only about an hour away. Enjoy your trip!

My brother is stationed there, and we love Biloxi! There is a place called Off the Hook, that is super fun and modern. It's out near the Grand Biloxi casino. The Beau Rivage is fun for night life, but if you're gambling I'd recommend Treasure Bay or the Grand Biloxi, that's where we have the best luck. My SIL is a bartender at Hog Heaven on Beach Blvd, and their BBQ is AMAZING!! Also, there's a place called Shaggy's that is right on the beach across from Hog Heaven that has drinks and appetizers. Keesler is a beautiful base as well.
