Can you wear diaper covers over disposable diapers? I think they are just SUPER cute.. but, DH has zero interest in CD'ing.. I'm trying, very hard!, to talk him into trying it out with baby #2, but so far it's a no go.. I get why.. I mean, there are parts of CD'ing that aren't pleasant.. especially considering we both work FT and would be relying on others to change, etc.. but, I digress.. anyway, was just wondering if they make little diaper covers that would work over a regular disposable

Re: Random question..
If you can get him to give it a trial run, there are a few places (Jillian's Drawers is one) that do diaper trials and you can just return them if you don't like them and I think you most, if not all, of your money back. CDing really isn't that big of a deal, and I think it seems like more work than it actually is. I just do one more load of laundry every other day... and we probably do less baby laundry because DD isn't constantly getting poop all over her clothes from blowouts in disposables.
GL! I wish I knew more about the covers... I mean, I'm sure you could just for the heck of it.
Are there certain ones you get? Or, just the covers you'd use for CD'ing? Disposable diapers are quite bulky, so I'm not sure how big the covers are and whether they'd fit over a disposable?
We've actually been really lucky with DS -- only a handful of blowouts in 6 months.. and, all were a result of him being on antibiotics and having diarrhea! I just think they are super cute, especially for the summer!
Absolutely! When we've gone on weekend trips and had to use disposables I still put a cloth diaper cover over it incase of blowouts. I like Thirsties and Flips by BumGenius. Flips are a good "gateway" cloth diaper. You can get disposable inserts to stick in them so you don't have to really deal with washing (you can wipe off the inside of the cover when it gets wet and wash it in the sink when it gets poopy). There are also cloth inserts you can use with them so you kind of get your feet wet without having to spend a lot of $.
Your DH might also be more comfortable with a pocket style or all-in-one style. They go on just like disposables, the only difference is you wash them instead of tossing them. When I was trying to talk my DH into CDing it was really helpful for him to see one in person to understand just how similar they are. Maybe see if there's a cloth diaper store near you so you can check them all out in person, or just order one online to play with (that's what I did). CottonBabies.com is having a seconds sale right now on their new born diapers, just FYI
They also make panty like covers that are just for looks, if that's your main concern. You can probably find a bunch on Esty.
