If you used the magic sleep suit

If you used the magic sleep suit to transition from swaddling how long did it take approximately to be able to not use the sleep suit anymore?
We just started last night and I know it will take some time, but I'm just wondering how long.

Thanks!!

Re: If you used the magic sleep suit

  • We just stopped and the first night he cried for probably ten minutes, really hard, whereas with the suit he didn't say a peep when I laid him down.  He fell asleep after that and didn't sleep well the first night.  Second night had more trouble self soothing, was up off and on several times in the first couple hours.  Third and fourth night (tonight) no troubles self soothing, not a peep when laid down.  Last night he slept slightly better with one less night waking than before.  So long story short, we're on night 4, self soothing is back perfectly for intial lay down, and night wakings has gotten slightly better since the first night.

**My son never really sleeped great even with the suit - a "good" night for him is only waking 1-2 times.  These nights I decribed above have been 3-5 wakings....and I am about to post something related to it very soon regarding rolling:) Plus, he's been sick and is WAY off his routine, so don't let my response scare you too much!

We used the sleep suit until she outgrew it, then did cold turkey. It only took her 2 nights to get used to the change.

this exactly for us too. 1 night and a full day of naps. the first nap was BAD, but she slept longer and longer for the remaining 2, then slept through the night like usual. it had a rocky start, so i was worried, but it didnt take long.
