Flu Shot

Did you ladies get a flu shot this year or any year while pregnant? My Dr. recommended that I get one but I've never gotten one before. I don't typically get sick and if I do its mostly just a sore throat. However, with the flu season being as bad as it is this year I'm scared not to get one.

I haven't gotten a flu shot since I was old enough to make the decision on my own.  I keep hearing about shortages and the people who need them most (at least, who I believe need them most) should get them; the elderly, young children, people with weakened immune systems, etc.  With the diet change and all the vitamins that I've been taking, thanks to this pregnancy, I've actually never felt healthier.  Also, luckily for me, those who work with me who get sick, stay home when they're sick.  I also dropped my social life to get my living situation in order so that baby won't come home to a house that is sub-par on cleanliness.

I've never skipped mine. I consider it building an arsenal of immunity for when i'm in the nursing home and everyone around me is dropping like flies and dyeing of flu induced pneumonia

I got mine this year because my baby was due on Thanksgiving day, and newborns are especially vulnerable to things like flu but babies can't have the flu vaccine until they are at least 6 months old. the only other time I can remember having a flu vaccine were the 3 years I was in the military, and that's only because they didn't give me a choice.

I didnt. I dont think all vaccinations are necessary. the CDC website even says this years shot has only been %60 effective. 

if you breast feed, your child will share your immunity.

 I take elder berry syrup. its amazing! all natural, anti viral & anti bacterial. My son was born the day after christmas. The same day our hospital placed its flu restrictions in effect, & declared the town in "epidemic" my whole family got the flu, but neither myself or the baby have gotten sick!
