I always have trouble with this name. To me, Colin and Collin are two different names. I may be in the minority though.
Colin = Cole inn
Collin = Call nn

IMO, Collin is the more common spelling and just looks more balanced..
When I see Colin I think of Colin Powell which is a different pronunciation than Collin. So maybe if that's what you were going for?
uggg...NO! I thought collin looked more balanced, but I looked on popular names and it looks like its more common spelled the other way. Which I think it weird.
I prefer it with two L's - otherwise, like others have mentioned, it looks like colon to me. A minority vote for Collin. The only one I know IRL is two L's
I have only known people who spelled it Colin. Collin looks incorrect to me. If you compare the historical popularity of each spelling on the SSA website, you'll see that Colin has always been more common, but Collin is trending upward. I'm guessing those of you who think Collin is the more common spelling are at least ten years younger than I am.

My Collin is spelled with 2 L's, it is less common and 'americanized' but solves the "colon" pronunciation issue and is a well established alternate spelling there are pros and cons to both.
