Sorry it has taken me so long to check in with you ladies and post pictures. It's been an amazing couple of days!
First let me say thank you all so much for the support and well wishes you have provided me during our ttc, tww, and now the pregnancy and birth of our sons. I has been so instrumental having you ladies as a sounding board and just general support.
As you know we were scheduled for c-section on Thursday (today) but the boys had different plans. On Monday night the contractions started pretty strong. They were hurting to a point where I had to sit down or they would take me down. I decided we better go to L&D and sure enough when we were checked I was in active labor. As Jake (baby A) was breech, there was no way we could allow labor to progress so they gave me meds to make the contractions stop and then gave me medicine to knock me out to sleep. Let me just say I am thankful M didn't have a video camera as I was supposedly pretty funny on that medication. They told us if the terbutaline didn't stop the contractions on by the third dose, then we would be doing an emergency c-section.
Good news is they were able to get them to stop. My doctor came in around 8:15 am and checked me and decided that we were having babies that morning in about 30 minutes. Holy he!!... We made our phone calls, M got scrubbed in, I got set and family started to arrive. I will say the spinal while it didn't hurt being set, it sucked horribly. I was shaking so violently they had to strap my arms and I was throwing up the entire section. I am just glad they just let me be like that and didn't insist on general!
So the doc pulled Jacob out first and man what a feeling it is to hear that cry. It was very faint and weak but it was there. He was also bright pink! It took a little longer to get to Sam than I expected so Sam was born right above a minute later screaming his head off. He was so loud he drowned out everything else in the room. Finally I heard them call Jake's apgars out as 9/9 and then Sam's as 9/9!
I will say we have been truly blessed. They have been with us the entire time and no NICU time was needed. Jacob was born at 9:43am CST on 1/29/13 weighing 5lbs 5oz and 17.5" long. Samuel was born at 9:44am CST on 1/29/13 weighing 5lbs 9oz and 19' long. As I write this, they are in the nursery so I can get a little bit of sleep and it's hard. This is the first time beyond blood work that they have left my side. M is passed out on the sofa in the room and I am tired to actually sleep. I am trying hard to adjust to them being on the outside and having to share them (other than with M) with other people.
So without further boring you with words, here are some pics.
Jacob (lf) and Samuel (rt)
Jacob (lf) Samuel (rt). I laid them together in my lap as Sam was getting fussy and this is how they snuggled together. Both content and happy. They slept like this for 2 hours.

Sam after his first bath
We are so in love right now that we are focused on sharing this time with friends and family. We should be released from the hospital either late tonight or tomorrow morning depending on the boys jaundice testing.
Thank you all again for the thoughts and prayers!
