*Updated! My IUD has moved and gone through the wall.

Now what? I have a thing through my doc where I can see all my medical stuff as soon as it comes through so I havent talked to him yet. Im assuming it has to be removed?

This was the perfect answer for us and Im really annoyed I spent 1000 bucks out of pocket for this thing.

Update

Apparently going through the wall doesnt mean going through it all the way. It just means it's grown into it. My doc got a few second opinions and they all said that most likely it wont move any further since Ive had it for so long. My strings have been long for a long time so it's been that way for a while.

Not coming out. Im nervous not going to lie, but it's stuck. It'll just hurt coming out. Ive decided to keep it. Thanks for the well wishes :)

  • I have no idea, but I hope you are okay!
  • So sorry!!

I saw something just the other day about a class action law suit against Mirena because too many people were experiencing this. You may want to look into it further.

Just curious - how did your doctor figure it out without you right there? Can they tell thru lab work?

  • Wow!

That's scary :( I was considering getting this too, because it seems perfect!
I would definitely call the doctor's office and ask about it for sure, that is a pretty big deal I would think. I'm surprised he/she hasn't called you!

    Good luck!
  • I hate to say this, and I'm not trying to scare you, but I'm feel like it has to be surgically removed now.... If it went through the wall, I don't think there is any other way to remove it, except surgically and it will most def. have to come out.

I'm curious to know how you know it went through the wall as well if you haven't been to the doctor yet.

I wouldn't wait, call the doctor right away as I believe this is a pretty serious matter.

    I hope you are okay!

  • My IUD moved.  It had to be removed.
  • Thanks everyone

I asked for an ultrasound because my periods were still really bad and regular. I dont have any pain or anything- this is also the girl who didnt know she was having full-blown contractions.

So the ultrasound showed it and I saw the ultrasound report before he called me this morning. Going in tomorrow for removal (hopefully) FX for no surgery- ETA it's just one arm- so maybe?? I hope!

    Blargh!

  • I found what I was trying to refer to...this is some scary stuff! Like I said, I used to have this and thought it would be wonderful! It was not for me, and I hope you can have it removed simply without surgery.

  • Glad to see your update, I was wondering how the Dr. visit went. Will you be able to remove it eventually, say if you plan to TTC again?
