I thought I was told no cow's milk before the age of 1....
Well now that DS is getting bigger I'm thinking into the not so distant future of when he will start with finger foods, or eating what we are eating.
If I make something with milk, or cheese is that something he can have off of my plate or should I avoid giving these to him. For example a casserole, or an Italian dish.
I feel like an idiot for asking this but I was just curious.
Re: I feel like this is a stupid question, but I'm asking anyway...
Thanks ladies

My pedi didn't mention it at the 6 month appt. and I didn't even think to ask, and was going to ask at his 9 month. But I figured I would ask here as well.
I asked my doctor this specific quest in regards to both milk, honey, and eggs.
Yogurt and cheese are OK because in the process of changing from milk to yogurt/cheese, lactose is broken down. Milk is not OK even as an ingredient because cooking does not change it. He said if lo has had small amounts in other foods, it's not a big deal and I can continue to give those foods to him since he didn't have a reaction.
Regarding honey & egg whites, cooking does not change the food so the risk of allergies/botulism is still there so no honey graham crackers or pancakes, etc.
Our pedi recommends cheese, yogurt, etc at 6 months. He eats what we eat now and the other night he had tater tot hotdish which had some milk in it.
Like pp said, babies need either BM or Formula until 1 and you shouldn't swap it out for WCM.
My pedi said 9 months for cheeses and yogurt.
He had some cheddar on his ham and broc last night...
