Vomiting when eating anything other than purees

DD2 is almost 7.5 months.  She does fine eating purees, but whenever I try to give her anything that is not pureed (this usually means puffs or yogurt melts) she gags so hard she vomits.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yes...he had to get used to it...he's not gagging anymore...

DS was like this, too. I started mashing his bananas up and leaving some lumps in them. He LOVES bananas, so he really worked on getting them down. Now he still gags on some things, but it's not quite as bad.

Yes our LO did vomit a few times. He's almost gotten used to gagging. But I think he's just learning how to move food around in his mouth. He's doing much better at 9 months but still gags a little with new foods.
