I had posted last week about having a problem getting the kids into our pedi for sick visits and contemplating switching. I had my mind made up that I would switch after O's recheck appt on Monday/yesterday, he ended up having a double ear infection, but before the 1st of the month because of insurance policies.
Well, things didn't quite go as planned. At O's appt we got a referral for him to see an ENT about tubes because he's had so many ear infections this year. I'm actually pretty happy to have the referral since he definitely needs to move on that direction but it has put a halt on my pedi switching plans. I just know that if I tried to switch now insurance would get all screwed up so until this tubes business is concluded we're stuck where we're at.
Oh sorry. I did not reply last week, but I did think waiting what many days was crazy. I would not want to change in the middle of a referral either though. Isurance can get tricky.
Glad to hear you have a much needed referral. We switched pedis last year...we had the same problem unable to get in for same day appt, too small of an office for the size of the practice. The times I called for sick visits I was told to wait it out an additional 34 days after already waiting 23 since they never had anything available. When j was born we started at a different practice and when it was time for A's 2 year we jut pulled him over to the new practice. Good luck! I hate finding new doctors.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to switch in the middle of a referral either.
It was so amazing after B got his tubes. You never just want to jump into an invasive intervention, but ssometimes I wish we'd gotten them sooner.
I hope the ENT process goes smoothly.
YAY for tubes! Tubes made everything better in our household. As far as the pedi; I hope you can switch soon. I know how stressful it is to never be able to get your kid in to see them.

GL! Pedis and GPs are great, but sometimes it just makes good sense to go ahead and see a specialist. Hope everything works out and you can kick these ear problems for good!
