Where are all the MoMs who had singletons afterward?

I swear there used to be a ton on here and now I don't see hardly any!

I need someone to talk me into or out of a 3rd. I'm starting to get baby fever but the idea of adding a baby into this chaos freaks me out. Please tell me straight up what it's like to have twins + 1!

  • I only have the twins so far, so no advice, but I will be watching this post to see the responses!

  • Apparently they are too busy to post. ;)

  • About 95% sure these two will be my last, but I can tell you that this pregnancy is by far the most uncomfortable pregnancy I have had yet.  So it's probably a safe bet that getting pregnant with a singleton would be a walk in the park compared to your twin pregnancy.  I can also say that while my first was a challenge, having a newborn plus a 2.5 year old was a total breeze as far as the newborn stage was concerned.  He just napped all the time and only woke up to nurse.  I would vote do it!

  • I am currently in terrible twos times two hell!  There is no freaking way!  I looked after a friend's baby the other week so she could go to her sisters wedding and thought at one point how lovely the dynamic was, maybe three would be nice. Then I was up all night with her baby and then had to spend the day looking after my twins. It was so hard. and it was only for 1 day!

We are sticking with two but if you deal with sleep deprivation better than me...go for it!

  • My twins turned 2 in October and we had a singleton in December. My singleton pregnancy was a breeze compared to the twins! And it is so much easier having just one baby!

Right now we're still adjusting since it has only been six weeks and we have some cabin fever since I haven't taken them out much during this flu season. Having three under three is busy, but I love it!

    This is what scares me!
  • I have 3 + 1....the first 6 months were rough. I had three almost 2 1/2 year olds, a 2nd CS, a newborn and then 3 weeks later an emergency appendectomy. It was of course all worth it...we will be trying one last time in June! I say go for it :)

  • I'm on the fence, too. For the first few months, I was d.o.n.e. but since then I had convinced myself that #3 would be a good idea. This month was hell with both boys being sick and being up all night and that kind of gave me a wake up call. I don't know if I can be up all night with a newborn and then chasing the twins around all day. Now I'm thinking maybe #3 will happen after the boys can listen better and help more.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  • It has its moments, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I enjoy the fact that all three still take naps! The logistics can be kind of crazy sometimes, I don't usually enjoy taking all 3 out by myself and will have someone come with to help me, but otherwise it has worked out for us. Having a singleton baby has been blissful, I've been able to just enjoy him so much more than I was with the twins, not to mention I feel much more confident with him too! You'll never know until you try!

  • I have twin five year old boys, twin two year old boys and I'm carrying a single boy at 26 weeks. (He's a massive, guess we aren't infertile after all surprise) It's hard. I work full time and my husband is home with them right now but that's about to reverse. I'm looking forward to nursing one baby. Carrying one feels different to me. He has tons of room to flip around and is keeping me up all night. I guess I don't have any wisdom, but they are pretty great and I can't imagine it any other way.

Okay, so I have backwards of this. I have 2 singletons and then twins, but I would say go for it. I love having all four LOs. Yes, it is chaos some days but really not so bad now that the boys are 3 months old. Go for it!

me too. My twins are 2 months old though.  I was a lot more functional during my singleton pregnancies than my ones with twins.
