So over the weekend, my parents had hoped to come down for a visit because they've been out of the area helping another family member through rough times. They realized though that they had been exposed to a cold or flu and were still in the incubation period for it would for the duration of the few days they are back so we decided it would be best to wait... were disappointed, however DH suggested we Skype worked out great! Just had to sit through my dad downloading, installing the software and signing up. We tested it out, and reconviened when my mom was around. They were able to see, hear LO and watch us interact with her, while preventing her from being exposed to new germs ... plus there was no travel time involved so they were able to "visit" a little longer ... an no extra cleaning required on my end. Just had to move laptop into more light for camera. Easy to end the visit when it was time to feed or change diaper too. Plus you dont have to feed the visitors or hand LO over to them if you dont want to.
Was so sucessful we Skyped with BIL who is across the country a few hours later!
