E.A.S.Y schedule

Does anyone follow this?  I came across a cheet sheet and it looks like we loosely follow it.  The only thing I question is dream feeding.  Let's say the last bottle before bed is at 7pm then an 11pm dreamfeed is suggested.  Does LO typically eat the whole bottle or do you let your LO eat what he/she can?  I don't know if I agree with waking up or LO's to dreamfeed if they are already down and sleeping for the night.  I guess the purpose is to eliminate MOTN feedings?  School me please :)

Re: E.A.S.Y schedule

  • We do EASY but do not dream feed. The boys have their last bottle around 7pm and go down for the night. Lately they'll wake around 2:30 or 3, then sleep until we're up for the day around 6:30 - 7am.  I'll be interested in hearing other responses!

  • I dream feed. LO is down for the night at 7:30. At 10:30 i go in and gently take him out of his crib and feed him. He doesn't wake up, and when he's done I place him back in the crib like nothing happened. This keeps him sleeping till 7:30am!

  • We also follow EASY, but no dreamfeeds. My babies might be a little different from PPs, because they go to bed for the night around 10:30 and sleep until 8 or 8:30. They take their last bottle around 9 or 10, and we put them down awake. Dreamfeeds wouldn't make sense in our case, but I can see how it would be beneficial for some.

  • We loosely follow EASY.  However, I don't dreamfed yet - because ds goes down around 9ish still and wakes for just 1 MOTN.  If as he gets older (6months) and goes down around 7ish I may add the dream feed to elimatinate the 3ish feeding.

  • We do this inadvertently (I wasn't trying to follow the EASY method but it turned out I was).

At this age, they don't really need the dream feed for any nutritive value, but they recommend you keep it if you're nursing just to keep your supply up. I'll be eliminating it in a few months when I wean them.

FWIW my two hardly wake up for the dream feed. 9 times out of 10 they don't open their eyes and they go right back to sleep.

  • I follow it in that I feed her right after waking and then play with her awhile and put her back down. I always nursed E to sleep and I'm trying I avoid that with Z. I still let her do things on demand but I like that I don't have to nurse her to get her to sleep. That means someone else can put her down, well if I had someone else lol.

Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!

  • We follow it but just in that he eats, has awake time, and then naps. I don't follow set times or have a strict schedule. We don't do a dream feed either.
