Hi ladies,
Last night we went to the inlaws for dinner. I had terrible heartburn, like usual, and my FIL suggested that I drink pickle juice to get rid of it. He swore it works better then any tums!
Have any of you heard or tried this? I am kinda chicken to try it out just because the heartburn is so bad that I have puked a few times and puking pickle juice just sounds painful!
Thanks ladies!!
Re: Pickle juice for heartburn?
Pre-pregnancy, whenever I had heartburn, I'd drink a shot glass of apple cider vinegar. Worked like a charm. Sometimes I had to do it twice to keep it at bay, but it always worked!
I'm guessing pickle juice is the same concept since it's largely vinegar based.
Fingers crossed, I haven't had heart burn yet this pregnancy, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Interesting that it worked for heartburn! I'll keep that in mind. Someone at work just told me last week that if you have diarrhea, vomiting, stomach flu, etc. you should drink pickle juice because it's loaded with electrolytes and is better than Gatorade for those symptoms. Don't know for sure about that one...
