Matt used to love love eating his baby food. Like he'd eat all day if I let him. Stage 2. Now he seems like he doesn't care for it as much. He fusses while eating. So I thought he was ready for stage 3 and table food, right?
He. Hates. Everything. He gags on all stage 3 which freaks me out every time. It's too thick or chunky. He flips out. And I tried some soft cheese and bread no go. He LOVES puffs and those veggie crunchies though!
I don't get it! He can't eat stage 2 forever! He drinks 2124 oz a day still also. And waking at night once to eat.
Anyone else experience this?

When we started introducing stage 3, DS gagged a lot too. Then I started offering him a waffle every morning. Rathe than break it up, he gets half of it and bites off what he wants. It's worked so well. He'll eat toast, banana, orange chunks, and has tried our dinner foods too.
It turns out, he 1) needed to get used to more solid food--the gagging stopped. and 2) he just hates stage 3s.
I would gag on stage 3 foods, too. Keep offering safe table food in addition to the stage 2 foods. Let him practice, as it's going to take time. Don't let him practice when he's really hungry or tired though.
Honestly, just take your time. Some babies don't get used to table food for a long time. DS just started eating our food about a month ago but I had to slowly work up to that. He really enjoys eating now. I'm sure things will get better if you give it a little time and don't force it. : )
