Changing LO's room

I am getting ready to do this in the next month and am in between going with something girly and modern so they can grow into it or princess theme. I have always been the first to say lets not do that but both my DD's are starting to really get into princess now and when I asked them which bedding set they wanted on the computer they both of course want cinderella. I could make it cute but thought they would get more use with a non themed room. Any thougts?

Re: Changing LO's room

  • Get the comforters, and decorate using the colors but not specifically the cinderella theme.

  • We went halfway - DD1 has Rapunzel bedding and her walls are purple, but we didn't decorate with anything else Rapunzel or princess. She chose some butterfly/flower decals for her walls, which will be easy enough to remove or replace as she grows. We went with curtains that match the colors in the room but are very simple and will match anything theme.

  • We have a princess room.  We have princess comforters and princess wall decalls.  Both can be changed quickly.  We have a small room with bunk beds, 2 dressers and a closet, so there is really not much wall space.
  • I would personally do traditional bedding and get some throw pillows and stuff to "theme" it up.

I am starting to plan out DS's big boy room and think this is the route I am going to go- traditional bedding and shades but with fire truck lamps and pillows for his theme.

    GL! It sounds fun!
