Update: So-so monitoring appointment today

I know I shouldn't let this stuff get to me but it does. Of the 11 follicles I started with, only 6 are growing now :-(

I know I'm not out of it yet and hopefully all 6 will make it and we'll end up with 1 or 2 to tranfer, I just hoped we'd get more. I even had this glimmer of hope that we'd get enough to freeze a couple, which of course, was stupid. I shouldn't have got my hopes up on that.

Waiting to hear from my doctor to see if I need to up any of my dosages.

Crappy start to the week.

Quick update: (Sorry I've been bad about posting updates in general, there's so much going on and I post the detailed stuff on IF but I feel like I don't want to bog the board down here with painful details about stuff most of them don't understand anway) - BUT, I talked to the nurse after my monitoring appt on Monday and she talked to the doctor and the instructions were - stay the course for now. One or two more might start growing, they might not. I have another appt tomorrow and if there are a few more that are a little slower than the main 6, the might give me more ganilrelix to try and hold off the bigger ones and give the smaller ones a chance to grow. So I'll know more tomorrow. But 6 is something. I'm still glad it's 6 and not say 2 or 3. I'll take 6 if they can get them all and a good number of them fertilize (I hope they do - my husband has super-sperm so we have that going for us). I'm really hoping all this money and pain and heartache pays off with a BFP but if not, I'm sure as sh!t not giving up either!

I hope your doctor figures out your dosage and gets as many embabies as possible.  Who knows, maybe with a few adjustments, you might get some frosties after all.

Shoot, I completely missed this update before.  I'm sorry!

Something to keep in mind.  These numbers could change a thousand times before retrieval. Mine tend to go up and down a lot because they don't all grow at the same speed, so projections can mean something different from one day to the next.  For my last IVF they were projecting 10 or 11 on the morning of trigger day.  Two days later they retrieved 24 eggs because so many caught up from the trigger.  You never know what might come out of this, so take the numbers with a grain of salt, okay?

Also, six great eggs are more than you need.  Remember that.  Sometimes it's better to have fewer because the quality ratio tends to be better.  My first IVF resulted in 36 eggs and only 8 became embryos.  If I'd only had 20 eggs growing, maybe more would have been viable.  If I'd only had 8, maybe those 8 would have been better quality.

A day at a time, love.  You can do this.
