Car pumping - FAIL!

Augh, so frustrated!  First time pumping in the car - got myself all psyched out. I had everything set up, nursing cover, hands-free bra, all hooked up.  My car was warm and I turned on my Medela pump and ...NOTHING!  I ran back in the house and put new batteries in the pack and still NOTHING.  By this time I was going to be late so I just had to go.

I think it was the cold that got my battery pack (it's really cold in my house) because 5 minutes from work, I turned it on just to test it and it worked.  So now I am taking work time to pump... Man, this pumping thing is frustrating.  Hopefully it will go better next time.  I just have to figure out how to keep the battery pack warm in my house I guess!

  • If you have the Pisa, there's an adapter for car. I think I paid 20 or so! Better than going through tons of batteries!

    This.

Well, DH was suppose to get the adapter, but you know how that goes...!  So I decided to start with the battery pack since we had a bunch anyway from Costco.  But yeah, I agree the adapter is the better way to go and I will probably just run out later to get this myself!

  • Another option...theres an adapter out now that you plug into your cig lighter and it basically turns your outlet into a 3 prong outlet.  So you could use it for things other than your pump.  We use ours for road trips (laptops, ipads, dvd players)  We even used this outlet for DS2's bili blanket when we wanted to on a 4 hour car ride!

Question if it's so cold it makes batteries not function... How are you keeping your baby warm?
