I ordered the Timi and Leslie Louise bag in brown. It is a beautiful bag and has great reviews. I haven't had my little one yet, so I can't attest to how great it is.
I got an email that said some of the Vera Bradley prints were on sale (half off). Not sure what colors/prints you like, but I'd check the website if you were interested in one.
I have the Timi & Leslie Hannah bag and love it. I'm a total bag whore too so once I had a baby I went nutso with diaper bags. I've owned 2 Petunia PickleBottoms & a JuJuBe but I have found my bag with the Hannah. By the time I came upon Timi & Leslie I was reading to move away from a diaper bag looking like a diaper bag. #2 was on his way and I knew we were done after him. Therefore, I wanted a bag I could continue to use post-kids that didn't look like I was carrying around a diaper bag. The Hannah bag is ridiculously roomy with tons of internal pockets as well as 2 side ones on the outside. There's a separate opening for wipes and changing pad, an insulated bottle holder, and a little purse for your personal items. It's a shoulder bag and it amazingly stayed on my shoulders. Too many times DH offers to carry my purses because they keep sliding off my shoulders but the Hannah stays put! I can stuff so much into it and it still stays comfy on me.
I just ordered the Timi and Leslie Annette bag on Amazon and am supposed to get it Wednesday. I really wanted a bag that looked more like a purse, so I was willing to spend a little extra for something I plan to use for a longer time. That being said, Amazon is currently running a 20% off promo for Prime/Amazon Mom members (must sign up one day, and I think wait a day to be able to use the promo code Baby2013). The other two Timi and Leslie bags mentioned earlier are on sale PLUS can get the promo if you're ready to purchase now.

This. I just got the large duffel in a discontinued print for $42 (regularly almost $90!). Check their web site.
My sister had a Vera diaper backpack and LOVED it. I got the Petunia Picklebottom boxy backpack, which is quite expensive as well, but I feel like a diaper bag needs to have some quality to it, as it will be my primary bag for awhile. Those things take some wear and tear over time! It might be cheaper to get a more quality bag in the long run, rather than having to buy a few cheaper ones.
ETA: I've also heard advice from several friends and family members to get a bag with a backpack option. It frees your hands. Carrying a heavy bag on my shoulder while trying to work with a stroller, infant, etc sounds cumbersome .I have small shoulders, so my bags tend to slip down.

For me, stroller straps are the key. I can't love a bag if I can't easily attach it to my stroller. I don't know if it's changed but the Vera Bradley bags didn't use to come with stroller straps.
I love my OiOi bags. I have 2, but only because I wanted a change. They are very durable & have lots of pockets & other goodies. I even get compliments on my "purse" all the time. People are shocked that I'm carrying a diaper bag. I do plan o getting a bigger one soon for #2.

i have this bag and its great! It's heavy, but manageable if I watch what I pack. I don't know if its the perfect bag, but I got it on sale and I think it's been a good purchase so far!

I've been happy with Skip Hop bags.
